SSL-Connection to mySQL/database

Hi.
I'm following a very strong security policy and want to give teampass a shot.
But why isn't it possible to do a secure connection to a database?
All of my servers and services are using ssl/tls, but I even can't installl teampass, because ssl-encryption is not supported.
Pls try to implement it ;-)
